OO Fights returns to Nothern Virginia



Northern Virginia’s premiere mixed martial art promotion OO Fights (formerly Operation Octagon) returns to Dulles Sportsplex, Saturday October 13th.  Local fighters from over a dozen gyms and dojos will compete in over twenty amateur and professional fights beginning with the undercard at 4pm.   
Former Operation Octagon fighters from the previous twenty events have gone on to the national stage such as UFC fighter Chris McCray, Bellator fighters Neil Johnson and Brian Van Hoven and current season Ultimate Fighter contestant, Colton Smith.  Fans will see national Mixed Martial Arts stars cornering and coaching up and coming talent as the next generation of talented fighters compete to make their mark in one of the most competitive fight scenes in the country.
Many former Operation Octagon amateur fighters and champs and will be competing in professional bouts on the main card.  Elder Ramos from Manassas’s Vanguard Gym will face Jeremy Boardwine in a professional welterweight match.  Eric Villanueve, Marcos Mendoza, Christian Banghart, and Vince Holland of Vanguard Gym will also be on Saturday’s card.
Neil Johnson, all American wrestler for George Mason University and wrestling coach for Disciple MMA in Sterling will face Terrell Hobbs from Richmond’s MMA Institute in a pro featherweight match.

Coach Tony Horn of EMIT MMA in Fredericksburg will face former WCW star turned Mixed Martial Artist Craig “The Pitbull” Pittman in a heavyweight bout that should deliver some fireworks.
Steve Adame of Woodbridge’s Gold Medal Grappling with face Pierre Amon in a welterweight amateur challenge.  Sean Kroushorn and Nick Mansburger from Premier Fight Center in Woodbridge also have fights on the card.  Two amateur titles will be on the line Saturday night with Francisco Isata and Jonathan Escalona facing off for the lightweight title and Chris Piriz and Tony Dabbondanza fighting for the Featherweight title.
The DVD of July’s OO XX event will be available Saturday night, and the Brain Van Hoven versus Jeff Peterson fight is worth the price alone.
