Fans invited to meet top heavyweight MMA fighter from Noon to 4pm
Fairfax, VA, January 3, 2011- Former World Champion MMA heavyweight superstar Shane Carwin will appear at Max Muscle Fairfax (10694 Fairfax Boulevard, Fairfax, VA) on Saturday January 15, 2011, from Noon to 4 pm. Free and open to the public, Carwin will sign autographs and discuss getting fit for 2011 at the sports nutrition store.
Considered one of the sport’s hardest punches, Carwin is currently ranked as the #6 heavyweight fighter in the world by Sherdog and SB Nation/USA Today. Carwin’s record is 12-1 with his only loss to Brock Lesnar in UFC 116 in July, 2010. The former collegiate All-American wrestler and football star won his first eight fights by first round stoppage and became the Ring of Fire heavyweight champion before signing with the UFC. Based out of Denver, Colorado, he is trained by highly-regarded coach Trevor Wittman and fights for Jackson's Submission Fighting & Grudge Fight Team at the GrudgeTrainingCenter.
